A great way to choose your perfect photographer is to look at their recent work
If you’ve spent any time researching photographers, you’ll have seen that words like ‘natural’, ‘candid’ and ‘documentary’ mean different things to different people. Look beyond the words to the images to see my very unposed interpretation of candid, documentary wedding photography.
I recommend starting with my ‘Best Candid Wedding Moments of 2025’. It’s a great way to quickly get a good feel for my style and how I photographed weddings over the past 12 months.
Look at the all the unposed moments and decide if that’s how you want your story to be told.
It doesn’t really matter if it’s a wedding at your actual venue, an experienced photographer will have a consistent style and quality of capturing couples and their guests, whether the backdrop is indoors, outdoors, sunshine or rain.
Hero sunset photos are great, but that’s just a tiny percentage of the images you might receive, if the weather obliges.
In documentary wedding photography, It’s the moments that matter the most.

From getting ready (this couple chose fab on-site properties Runnymede House and The Woodlands) to the party, and everything in between.
Tunnels Beaches is a dream venue for ocean lovers, attracting couples from all over the UK and beyond. I’m lucky to be one of their recommended photographers and happy to go at every opportunity! Roll on May this year when I’ll be returning for Michaela & Dominic’s wedding 🩷

If ever there was a lesson in how to have fun at your own wedding, Zoe and Tim absolutely nailed it! 💖 This fab bride donned her bright pink shoes, then headed across the road to a pub literally across the road from their Airbnb (good planning!) After a round of drinks with the girl squad, friends and Zoe’s Dad arrived and shots were downed. And all this before a fantastic ceremony with personal readings under the trees at beautiful @pangdeanbarn in the South Downs.
You really can’t beat Pangdean Old Barn for a relaxed atmosphere, drinks and mingling – and go-karting! – in the stunning gardens, followed by excellent food. The venue works perfectly with my candid, laid back approach so I’m super happy to be a trusted supplier there. Can’t wait to return for this year’s weddings! 😃

This is the mini story of Annie and Dave’s wonderful Summer wedding @upwalthambarns 🩷 It was a perfect day in July 2024, the sun shone, the courtyard was filled with colourful blooms and there was extra cause for celebration when England made it through to the Euro semi finals.
Great to capture all the dance-floor action with one of my favourite local bands too @murdochscrazyeyes . It’s always a great party when they’re performing!
